This project involved the creation of an illustration-led advocacy graphic developed for People Assisting the Homeless (PATH) in recognition of Indigenous Peoples’ Heritage Month. The work was commissioned through referral from a local Los Angeles–based Native nonprofit, reflecting trust in my ability to approach the subject with cultural competency, accuracy, and respect.
The campaign artwork was designed to support PATH’s ongoing commitment to inclusion and awareness around Indigenous and Native American communities, particularly in relation to homelessness and access to supportive services. The visual approach centers contemporary Indigenous representation, pairing expressive portraiture with clear, accessible typography to mark the national observance while aligning with PATH’s mission-driven communications.
Using Adobe Fresco, I created hand-illustrated digital artwork depicting Indigenous individuals in a contemporary context, emphasizing dignity, presence, and visibility. The illustration was developed to function across digital and print platforms, allowing PATH to share the message broadly throughout the month-long campaign. The final composition balances expressive illustration with legibility and restraint, ensuring the artwork remained advocacy-focused and appropriate for a nonprofit audience.
