This project involved the design of conference collateral developed for the California Tribal Families Coalition (CTFC), completed as a two-part engagement supporting both programmatic research and event-based communications.
The first component was a custom regional map created as a supplemental visual for the Tribal Children & Families Engagement Guide (2024)—a resource developed for California Regional Centers and intellectual and developmental disability (I/DD) service providers. The map visualizes Tribal communities within Regional Center catchment areas across California, supporting CTFC’s advocacy work around tribal children, families, and access to services. Designed entirely in Adobe Illustrator, the map integrates culturally informed basketry patterns and a comprehensive legend system to balance clarity, accuracy, and cultural competency within a data-informed layout.
The second component supported the 2nd Annual California American Indian Symposium on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), co-hosted by CTFC and Wilton Rancheria. For this event, I designed a custom tote bag using original artwork by Makala Crosno (Susanville Indian Rancheria), titled Eyes Wide, Watchful. I carefully vectorized the artwork to preserve its graphic integrity while adapting it for large-format print production. Additional work included vectorizing and standardizing sponsor logos into a unified, monotone system suitable for fabric printing and event use.
Together, these deliverables demonstrate my ability to execute culturally competent design across formats—combining cartographic visualization, illustration adaptation, and production-ready event collateral in service of Tribal advocacy and community-centered programming.
