This project involved the design of a new logo identity for a Southern California–based cultural organization dedicated to community-led museum practice, preservation, and storytelling. The organization was newly established at the time and sought a visual identity that could operate credibly within museum, arts, and cultural heritage spaces while remaining accessible and memorable to the communities it serves.
The logo was developed as a geometric lettermark centered on the organization’s initials, using a restrained three-color palette to ensure flexibility across print, digital, and environmental applications. The form balances structure and approachability, referencing systems of preservation, exhibition design, and archival care without relying on literal imagery. Emphasis was placed on typographic clarity, proportion, and scalability, allowing the mark to function confidently across institutional and grassroots contexts.
As a Native designer working within cultural and heritage-centered spaces, I approached the identity with attention to longevity, restraint, and purpose. The resulting logo provides a contemporary yet grounded foundation for an organization committed to empowering artists and communities to care for their own cultural belongings and narratives.
