This project involved the redesign of the California Tribal College website, supporting the institution’s mission to become the first four-year Tribal College in the State of California. The website was developed to communicate the College’s vision for advancing Tribal sovereignty, leadership development, and access to culturally relevant higher education for Native students across California.
I was commissioned for this work based on my established reputation as a Native designer with experience delivering culturally competent, institutionally grounded design solutions. The primary objective was to create a clear, accessible, and modern digital presence capable of serving multiple audiences, including prospective students, community members, partners, and educators.
Using Adobe XD, I developed responsive wireframes and interactive prototypes to collaboratively design the site page by page with the client. This process allowed for close alignment on content hierarchy, navigation, and usability prior to final implementation. Emphasis was placed on accessibility, clarity, and responsiveness to ensure the website could scale across devices while maintaining visual consistency and ease of use.
The final website design reflects both technical rigor and cultural awareness, presenting complex educational information in a structured, approachable format that supports outreach, enrollment, and long-term institutional growth.
